[Reminder] Trans Self Defense Training, April 30 – This Saturday!

The Diversity Center is offering two free self-defense classes for the Trans* and GenderFluid/GenderNonBinary communities. In this class, youth and adults will learn how to avoid danger by getting away, use verbal and physical skills to protect themselves, and understand prevention and safety strategies. LGBT News: Thousands Of Students Take Stand Against Bullying On GLSEN’s ‘Day Of Silence’

“We all agreed that ‘Silence Is Ours’ should be this year’s theme,” Emery Vela, a sophomore from Colorado and member of GLSEN’s National Student Council, told The Huffington Post. “We recognized that so many LGBT students like us are silenced by bullying and harassment, but now we’re working to reclaim that silence.
