The Queer and Trans Youth Council of Santa Cruz County Presents: The Gender Diverse Collection
The QTYC worked hard to create entertaining and informational videos. These include topics such as transgender struggles, how to ask for pronouns, and gender as a whole.
They scripted, filmed, edited, and produced all of the material themselves, facing challenges along the way and developing new skills and experience. They experimented with videography, acting, writing screenplays, and video editing.
Pronouns In The Wild
This comedic video provides some helpful insight into how to ask people for their pronouns. Including what you should and shouldn’t do, such as making assumptions, or feeling insulted by your pronouns being asked.
Gender Explained: A Brief Summary
This intellectual video delves into gender vs. biological sex, common terminology, gender expression, and some transgender struggles. If you have questions or simply want to know more about what it means to be gender diverse, you will find your answers here.
An Insight Into Queer Mental Health
This video brings awareness to the mental health crisis that currently plagues queer and transgender youth. It sheds light on common statistics that reflect this, delivered through the words of the council members.
Content Advisory: This video contains a frank discussion about mental health which includes a discussion of suicide. If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text the 24/7 crisis hotline at 988 or reach out to The Trevor Project at thetrevorproject.org/get-help
