The Diversity Center | Triangle Speakers Training
Event Details
The Diversity Center will provide comprehensive 4-hour training sessions in July and August (participants can choose one) that will encourage you to speak your truth and inspire change. During the training, participants will learn about:
- History of Triangle Speakers
- Review Panel format + roles and disclaimer
- Review current Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression terminology (SOGIE), pronoun usage and active listening strategies.
- Explore the healing impact of storytelling
- Participants will receive coaching on how to develop/update a 5-minute bio that will serve to introduce you and your story to the Panel’s audience. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their bio and receive feedback from fellow participants.
- Review the Triangle Speakers Code of Conduct and participants will learn about the next steps required to become an activated Triangle Speaker.
Light refreshments will be provided to keep us energized and nourished during the training session.
When: Saturday, July 22 @ 1pm – 5pm OR Tuesday, August 22 @ 1:30pm – 5:30pm
