November 18 celebrates and highlights the work and barriers of LGBTQIA+ people in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The date is symbolic of the 60th anniversary of American Astronomer and gay activist Frank Kameny’s U.S. Supreme Court fight against workplace discrimination. November 18 represents those who continue to make the world of STEM a better and more inclusive place. There’s no such thing as too small a gesture to promote and support LGBTQIA+ people in STEM.
You can start by checking out our resources, following and contributing to the #LGBTSTEMday hashtag on social media — share stories, images and videos of yourself or your role models — and helping to boost the visibility of other LGBTQIA+ people in science, tech, engineering, and math.
