      Saturday Youth Leadership Meet-Up

      Our Saturday group is comprised of youth who have come together to design and implement events and learn leadership skills while connecting with new friends and having a great time. All teens in middle school and high school are welcome to join!

    1. MI CASA ES TU CASA 2017 – Lessons From Loved Ones / Lecciones de Nuestros Seres Queridos @ The Pajaro Valley Gallery
      11:00 am – 4:00 pm

      Join us for Mi Casa es Tu Casa, Pajaro Valley Arts’ annual exhibit inspired by Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) a traditional holiday in Mexico that celebrates ancestors and others who have passed away. Altars (ofrendas) are built in homes to honor and remember the dead. Similar customs exist throughout the world and we share common ground with many cultures in our desire to honor and remember those whom we have lost.

      This year there are 24 altars/installations on display by eight schools and fourteen community groups, and ten individual artists are presenting two-and-three-dimensional work.

      Opening Reception: Sunday, October 29, 2017 @ 2pm – 4pm

      ** With workshops, music, food, and fun ***

      Come join us for our 25th year in celebration of MI CASA ES TU CASA!

    1. Diversity Center LGBTQ Youth Meet-Ups – Every Friday! @ First Christian Church
      3:30 pm – 5:00 pm

      In partnership with the First Christian Church, The Diversity Center’s LGBTQ Youth Program will be holding Queer Youth Meetups in Watsonville starting December 4th! Every Friday after school, youth ages 12 – 18 are invited to join our dynamic team of youth activists and leaders from the Santa Cruz County. This meetup group will run in conjunction with the Saturday LGBTQ Youth Meetups; more for you to choose!

    2. [Save the Date] Subjects to Change Teen Winter Art Market @ Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History
      5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      S2C will be hosting their annual Teen Winter Art Market for the third year in a row. Local teens from all over Santa Cruz county will be selling their art, including everything from handmade silver jewelry to screen-printed tote bags, and of course everything in between. We encourage everyone to come support local youth and stock up on unique, handmade gifts for the holidays, as well as enjoy the rest of the First Friday festivities!
