An opportunity to invite a limited number of high school students to the annual Queer and Trans People of Color Conference has been recently extended to queer and trans high school Sophomore, Junior and Senior students in Santa Cruz County.
This year the conference will be held at UCSC on May 5-7, 2017.
This is a college conference that is making space for high school students and would be a wonderful experience for our local high school students to witness. With the theme of “Healing and Resistance,” this conference aims to “explore and deconstruct the intersections of being queer, trans and a person of color.” Under our current political climate, our communities need empowerment now more than ever and our youth to be the leaders in this movement.
Because of our limited space, we are asking for students to answer the following questions in order to be selected to attend. Please complete this application with short response paragraphs.
Allies welcome to apply.
Applications are due Thursday, April 20 at Noon.
