      In partnership with the First Christian Church, The Diversity Center’s LGBTQ Youth Program will be holding Queer Youth Meetups in Watsonville starting December 4th! Every Friday after school, youth ages 12 – 18 are invited to join our dynamic team of youth activists and leaders from the Santa Cruz County. This meetup group will run in conjunction with the Saturday LGBTQ Youth Meetups; more for you to choose!

      Saturday Youth Leadership Meet-Up

      Our Saturday group is comprised of youth who have come together to design and implement events and learn leadership skills while connecting with new friends and having a great time. All teens in middle school and high school are welcome to join!

    1. South Bay Youth Pride Festival, San Jose
      12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      The LGBTQ Youth Space and local LGBTQ+ youth leaders have partnered to host the first ever South Bay Youth Pride Festival!  This is a FREE event for and by queer and trans youth in the South Bay! Join us for music, entertainment, food, games & activities, a resources fair, guest speakers, and more!

      #SBYPF17 was developed by teens looking to unify LGBTQ+ students/GSAs (Gender & Sexuality Alliances) from high schools throughout our county.

      This event is intended for LGBTQ+ and ally teens. Families/adults supporters of youth are welcome!

      8:30 am – 12:30 pm

      Join our interactive workshop for providers-educators, healthcare, housing, community and social workers, and all others interested in serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual youth populations.

      At this workshop, attendees will:

      • Learn about LGBTQ terms, statistics, and issues.
      • Hear personal experiences from a panel including local LGBTQ youth.
      • Take away practical best practices for what your organization can do to better reach and serve LGBTQ people.
      • Have opportunities for discussion, questions, and comments.
